Bob was getting married the following week but his fiancee didnt want him to turn up with a hangover so the Bucks night was a week ahead. Unfortunately I had a trip to Perth that week and had just mananaged to get the return load into our yard that morning after driving virtually non stop. Consequently I was kind of knackered before we even started, I had just had time to shower, change, kiss the wife hello goodbye before meeting up with the guys.
Our first stop was down the Cross in the 1972 it was really jumping, a couple of beers in the pub and it was into a strip joint. A few more beers went down and we were off again and we were off again, lack of sleep was starting to get to me. I was pulled into another pub by the lads more beer was swilled then we were off again. At some stage I must have been seperated from the lads I awoke in a small bar in god knows what pub club, I wasnt drunk just a little merry, a guy was asking me if I was okay. I told him yes but I was tired and needed a bit of fresh air to help me wake up, so the guy helped me up and guided me outside.
He was a nice friendly guy and suggested I go with him back to his place for a coffee to help me sober up as well as wake up, I agreed as i thought it was probably a good idea. Looking at my watch I saw it was only 11:30 amazing the boys would still be in full flight, my wife didnt expect to see me until the wee hours or later if we crashed at one of the lads places.
We arrived at the guys flat in Paddington and he welcomed me into hi pad, dumping me on a nice comfortable couch he started on the coffee.
