I will always remember that night for it was to change my life forever. I mean for a start it changed my perception of people without a doubt.
I have now finished school and am now 18, but my experience took place when i was just 16 and I had come home from school. Nobody was home, i was an only child and i lived pretty much with my mother - my father was always away on business.
The night in question began to take a turn for the worst really when i went for a nap on the settee downstairs after my tea. I must have fallen asleep for about 3/4 hours when the phone rang and woke me up. I went to pick it up and all i could hear was heavy breathing on the opposite end.
"Hello?" i said inquistivley
The phone still had the recivence of heavy breathing.
"Hello? anyone there?" i said once more.
The line cut off and the dead dialing tone come through. I put the phone down and sat on the settee. It was about 9 oclock and mum wasnt gonna be home for at least 2hrs or more as she was seeing a friend at the hospital.
I was trying to fall asleep again when i heard the phone again - This time someone spoke.
"Hello, i was wondering if i could speak to the householder at the moment?" said the man in question.
"Im sorry but hes currently out at the moment" i said
"Oh sorry about that, then is your mother home?" he replied
"Im sorry but shes otherwise occupied also..can i leave a message?" i asked
"Yes if that is no worries son, just a curteous call about our new double glazing policy..well call again. No need to worry! Goodbye"
"Bye" and the line went dead.
How odd i thought, normally calls like that are done during the day. Oh well i just let it go out of my mind and fell asleep again on the couch.
However the next time awoke was not to the sound of the phone but of glass smashing. I sat bolt up right and i could hear voices. My body just froze so still. Foo... Læs hele novellen
